The K9 Unit had a fantastic time competing at the 'Year of the Dog' NAFA Tournament hosted by Ready Set Go Flyball Team in Napanee, ON June 23/24! Our Multi Team of Crank, Brenna, Limit & Viva ran so well together and placed 2nd! Crank ran all 4.0s in start; Brenna ran 4.7-4.9s; Limit ran a 3.9s; and Viva ran a new personal best of 4.12 in the pack!! Our Regular 1 lineup of Zuma, Abby, Felon & Trend had multiple lineup changes to accomodate green dogs and injuries. Zuma ran all 3.6-3.7s in start for much of the weekend before Abby took over after a slight injury. This was the first time Abby raced 2nd in the pack and she handled it like a pro!! Felon looked incredible and is back to racing full time!! Trend was holding her ball much better this weekend! The K9 Unit is very proud that Abby was chosen to receive the 'Start Me Up Award' for the tournament! It was one of four specialty awards given to acknowledge certain participants! Way to go Abby!! Our up-and-coming dogs Tedd, Venture & Riddick were awesome in warmups!! Can't wait to see them racing in the lanes next year! Thank you to Paul Rioux and RSG for hosting such an amazing tournament! You guys really go all out with an 'all frills' tournament!! From the awesome welcome bags, to the raffle table, the award ribbons, the breakfast table and your support of the Shebas Haven Rescue! It was a great time had by all. Thanks to our buddies at Crossing Borders Flyball Team for all your help and support in the lanes! Special thanks to Sally for running Limit all weekend! We are looking ahead now to our next tournament in two weeks in Richmond, ON hosted by Crossing Borders!
